“B” {& I have to have this rug} . . .

I’m in love.

With God. My husband. My kids.

And this rug.

photo "borrowed" from Garnet Hill

This rug will match my kitchen – I’m pretty sure perfectly! Unfortunately, last time I checked . . . . they were out of the size I needed to go under my table. Waahhhhh! So, I’ll settle for a smaller one for in front of my sink. And maybe another one to go in front of the back door. And I really could use the runner too – down the incredibly short space between the kitchen and the garage door.

But then again, I’m poor.

I’ll just get the smallest one to go in front of my sink. {For the record, I would have sold off some furniture to get the bigger size for under the table.}

Honestly, I would have never found this rug if it wasn’t for a painting for a friend of mine. I don’t have the time {or energy to look for cuteness like this!} I love it when I receive pictures and sites like this that makes me fall in love with stuff I don’t really need, but really want. I stared at the rug for so long, I just went ahead and did myself the favor of saving it as my screen saver. Cheezy, but I did!

I tried every kind of light to get a “really good” picture. Needless to say, it didn’t matter! I just couldn’t catch it! The true color of the painting is is so vibrant! And the color you see between the brown scallop and the orange color is actually red – a burnt red. A red that actually looks like what you see in the RUG!

This painting is going in the bonus room and has a light blue sofa.

I took a gazillion photos of this painting! The picture below is a pretty good representation of the shading. It kills me that you can’t see the shading in the full picture as well as you can in the snippet pictures.

Sorry for the glare, but I’m only posting the pictures that show more of the real colors {including the ones with glares!} I’m going to shut-up now so you can just look.

And just one more time . . .

Smoochy, smoochy! I love this rug!

I have 2 more planned posts and then I’ll be posting about the re-order situation. I’m sure a couple of you might want to know the plans!

Caroline . . .

I told myself that I was NOT going to blog till I was able to post art. It has basically been a month since I finished a canvas and it was driving me crazy! Fortunately, I have 2 other posts ready to post {of art} AND will – 1 each day after today. {Does that make sense?} I know I’ve said this before, but this new school schedule is whipping my butt! And I finally figured out why it is impossible for me to finish anything the past several weeks.

First, my kids do not take a nap anymore due to the way the schedule plays out throughout the day. They do snooze in the van for a few minutes, but no real nap. In their beds. For any amount of time. Ugh.

Since they don’t get a nap, I don’t get a break during the day – TO PAINT! And really, I just don’t get a break!!! And with 4 kids – I’m not going to lie – I need a break!!

And since I don’t get that break during the day, I’m totally exhausted by the time the crazies go to bed at night. I don’t even make it to my own bed. I’ve been crashing in the bed with one of the kids or maybe I make it to the couch. But where ever I end up, . . . it’s not with a paint brush in my hand. Ugh.

And then to make matters worse, I don’t wake up early! Which is incredibly unusual for me.

Now the good news, I got a nap-time the past 2 days due to 1 of my kids not having school – it is the one I have to pick up during what use to be our nap-time!! AND next week is fall break! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! I’m sooo freakin’ excited! {I know, pathetic – really.}

OKAY, okay – so on with it . . . as I said, I finished a few!

This one started in a 1 direction and ended up in another. The room . . .

Mind you – the crib in the lower right corner is gone! The bed is off the wall and centered on the wall it is pushed up in. AND the bed is white.

The fabrics . . .

Fantastic combination! My job – bring it all together!

I hand-stitched beads.

I added some pearls.

And then I did major debating. When I say major, I mean major. I obviously painted a pattern in the middle layer. But the outer layer . . ..

I’m going to spare you all the details, because I’m sure most of you do not want to hear them. But I did finally decide on what to do!

Since stripes dominate the room and they are green, . . .

. . ., we decided on the solid raspberry color. I know! So not like me!!!!! But it is perfect for the walls!

For me, it was a balance.

{sorry for the glare.}

It still has plenty of elements to look like my art but has a clean look to it as well. A nice unexpected change.

By the way – this joker is 16×40 = huge!

See you tomorrow with more art!

Graham . . .

As promised, posting after LOST. Still can’t believe that the show is about to be over. Pass the anti-depressants. Moving on . . .

So as some of you saw {on facebook} . . .

Do you see that????

Let me close up it for you . . .

Four frames!!!! Do you remember the Boone and Manning paintings?? Well – we were trying to hit the “funky” mark they had, but keep a traditional look with the color palette.

In Graham’s bedroom, the walls are a light shade of blue with navy accents. The furniture is a deep, rich stain.

I am almost finished with ANOTHER ONE! Lily, your painting is up next!!
