17 Laney . . .

Had every intentions to post earlier today, but Hudson has been sick {and missed school today.} And we just spent some time together today. Of course if Hudson has anything viral, guess what happens! That right folks, his kidneys go crazy! Yesterday, I pulled the picture of him a few weeks before diagnosis {which has been almost 3 years ago} and then I took his picture. I put them side by side and honestly, I was shocked.

Most people lose weight when they hit that 3 year old marker – instead, he seems to have gained it! He is so swollen he doesn’t look recognizable. If it wasn’t for that crooked smile, I wouldn’t even think he was the same kid. And he is more swollen today. His eyes are like slits and he is so uncomfortable. I have to tell you all that this consumes me. It invades my thoughts constantly. If you want to know exactly what is nephrotic syndrome, this is the BEST explanation I’ve ever found about it. Fortunately, he is “suppose” to grow out of it. We are just waiting till then.

I guess I need to keep painting while I wait!

I finally got a request to paint to match this bedding! I’ve known a couple of people who have purchased this set, but the colors matched the previous nursery – so I’ve never gotten to paint anything for it!

I have to thank a friend, Rachel, for loaning me a piece of this bedding for matching purposes. I wanted to add the blue, but I couldn’t get a good look at it. And the only larger photos {such as the pillow above} did not show all the colors.

Another one marked off the list!

About Kim
I picked up a paint brush for the first time 7 years ago, and haven't put it down since. My goal - To paint a canvas for my son's nursery. I never dreamed a business would be born out of it. {And if you saw the first canvas, you would think the same thing, too!}

    oh that is just adorable! I swear every painting is better and better – I am continually amazed on what you manage to do while still so busy with the littles. Poor little Hudson – just wanted to let you know he is on our prayer list! :) (hugs)

    I’m so sorry girl! I’ll be praying for yOU and Hudson! That is the most adorable bedding! Another great painting!!

  3. Megan says:

    LOVE IT!

    Sorry to hear about your baby! I’m sure you’ve done it, but have you looked into his diet at all? Sometimes a simple change such as going to organic milk can help get rid of some things for kids. My whole family has switched but more because of all the nasty stuff that regular milk includes. My brother just died of cancer so we’re super paranoid over anything extra in our food! Anyway… good luck with everything, I’m sure it’s hard to see your baby swollen and sick. No one deserves that.

    I was just thinking about emailing u to see if you could paint owls, birds for my daughters room. She has the hailey collection (similiar to the one on your post) from pottery barn kids and im having a rough time finding accessories to match her room! Love the Laney painting!!

  5. So sorry Hudson feels bad. Hope he is well soon. Love this painting!!!!

    Girl.. So sorry you are still dealing with this. Hudson is such a sweet kid and I hate that he is going through this… you are in our thoughts and prayers, let us know if we can help with anything.
