13 – Carsten . . .

It has hit me like a ton of bricks that summer break is almost over. And I’m shocked! Where did summer go? Did it not just drag by, slower than Christmas when we were kids? Of course, bringing up Christmas just reminded me that it is about 5 months away! FIVE MONTHS. Did you hear me?!?! Five months away!! That is really concerning because like summer break, it will be here {and gone} before we know it! I’m not trying to brag or rub it in your faces {or maybe I am} but I actually have some gifts bought. I have several for the kids bought and stored away. Fortunately, I don’t buy the kids much when it comes to toys throughout the year – so for now they still actually want the same thing they continually ask for. Don’t get me wrong, once the toy commercials start getting aggressive, they want everything they see cross the screen. When the toy inserts start getting heavy in the Sunday paper, they want 1 and sometimes 2 of everything. But they still have the basic stuff they feel they can’t live without and until they start snooping, I think I need to take advantage of this time I still have to buy gifts early. Does anyone else start this early?

As most of you have been waiting, I’ve finished number 14. And I think I’ve got the number correct at the bottom of the blog. {I’ll check it later.} I have no lies to tell, this one took a long time. Why? Because the houndstooth was a challenge!

The bedding . . .

You can find the bedding at Cocalo Couture – it is the Aidan. {Same place I found the picture!}

There is a lot of houndstooth . . .

And more  . . .

So, we just went with it!

This entire time I’ve been typing this post, Emme has been sitting beside me trying her best to get the water colors to “work” not having a clue that it takes ‘water’ for that to happen. I told her it took special powers that apparently she didn’t possess. {I know, mean. But there is no way I’m turning her loose with paint until I can sit beside her and give her all my attention!} Well, she just licked the blue and screamed out, “I’ve got the power!”

haha!!!

About Kim
I picked up a paint brush for the first time 7 years ago, and haven't put it down since. My goal - To paint a canvas for my son's nursery. I never dreamed a business would be born out of it. {And if you saw the first canvas, you would think the same thing, too!}

    I love the Houndstooth (but I am a Bama fan). : )

    I have Christmas gifts bought for this year. It’s easy to shop for the girls in my family. When they see something I have and say “I LOVE THAT”, they know they will get it for Christmas. Tee-hee! Makes it easy to shop for them.
