6 – F . . .

A long, long time ago. In the olden days, the days of yore – ancient times . . . . about a year and a half ago, I was asked to paint 2 pieces to go over twin beds. The first and last initial. What was cool is that is was basically the same letter.

I swear that is 2 different canvases. If you look hard you can tell.

Well, as suspected – the twin beds got bunked {as in they were bunk beds used as separate twin beds and now are stacked on top of each other.} That meant the middle initial was needed – to make a big statement! I think this will look awesome stacked on top of each other!!!

And since this was yesteryear, bygone times – history . . . . about a year and a half ago, I had a little apprehension if I could do it – you know, match it to the original 2. Not the colors – I most every single time, write down every single color – including the mix if I had to mix – for every painting. Good thing this order fit into the “most every single time” category, because I did write all the colors down AND there were no mixes. But I was still concerned if the stripes, beading or letter would fit the same scale as the original two.

But the problem ended up being the green paint! It was a totally different color when it it dried. I had 3 bottles and tried everyone of them thinking something was jacked with the first bottle. It wasn’t – apparently, this color has been reformulated. With some mad mixing skills, 3 colors of paint and a half a day, I think I matched it. Of course this is comparing it to my computer monitor. But I think, perhaps, I did it.

F & W

Here you can see close-up pictures of the ‘F’ and ‘W’ – I guess we will find out if they match once I get the ‘F’ shipped to North Carolina.

And I know you want to make sure I’m working . . . here’s your proof, baby!

I’m actually letting the kids skip naps today – hoping that will guarantee an early bedtime. That means I’m not painting during that time. But I’ll pick back up tonight. I’m already half-way finished with another one and if I don’t finish tonight, it will drive me c-Razy!

About Kim
I picked up a paint brush for the first time 7 years ago, and haven't put it down since. My goal - To paint a canvas for my son's nursery. I never dreamed a business would be born out of it. {And if you saw the first canvas, you would think the same thing, too!}

    OOOHHHH ~ skipping naps. . . you like to live dangerously, don’t you?! Hope you get what your after (early bedtime) and free time to paint.

    Another uber cute canvas. I am willing to bet that your colors are spot on, even if ya had to be master mix-a-lot.
