As you all know, it never fails that I don’t post when I say I will! Hudson’s kidneys are back to crazy again – face swollen, testing a ridiculous amounts of protein in his pee and due the dose of steroids he is now on, he is officially in crazy mode. It was confirmed that Em will have to have her adenoids and tonsils removed. As I told you guys in the last post, this is a big shocker. She has never had an issue! Ever. But she snores like a man and she stops breathing at night. So apparently, she had issues the ENTIRE TIME and I was completely oblivious! It really has been a week.
I laugh when I think back when I was pregnant with Hudson and how stupid I really was about raising kids.
{circa summer 2007. Hudson was 2 and Carson & Lawson were 6 months. Check out Kim’s do! I could really do an awesome post on all my hair styles.}
I knew the basics – diaper rash prevention, ways to burp, how to bathe, etc.
I quickly became a champ on breastfeeding, diaper changing a standing a child, cleaning up messes as the new one was made, etc. But no one told me how hard balance really is. And when I say balance – I’m not talking about cooking, cleaning and quality time with your children while you delicately choose which child is getting what second of the day. I’m talking about the developmental delays, undiagnosed issues, adenoids/tonsils, nephrotic syndrome, autism, sensory integration disorder, Aspergers, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, feeding therapy, what is insurance going to pay, how are we going to pay, preschool, school, teaching true tolerance, accountability and acceptance - I really could keep going, but I’m not.
I do want to say one thing . . . . My kids have never had an ear infection, ever.
And that really is a running joke.
{Circa early spring 2010. Look how tiny they were! And Carson has his pirate hat on – a fixture during those days! ha!}
I love my kids. More than anything. Please don’t misinterpret this post as anything other than just sheer amazement that I’m still alive, happy and not run down. God has given me an awesome gift and there is not a day that goes by that I don’t have a heart of thanksgiving. But I do “shut-down” when I have a week like this week. Hence, the reason for no blog post.
And because this week couldn’t get anymore crazy . . . and I had a lapse in better judgement – I started P90x at the beginning of the week. I’m pretty sure I’m experiencing hell on earth. I have no other comment. Just thinking about this experience causes me so much pain. So, I’ll reserve those thoughts when I do the next DVD later today.

Okay, enough whining. On to what you have all been waiting for . . . . .
-The details -
{Let me say, I wrote this a while back and have had to come back and add/delete. I’ve went over it a million times, but I’m afraid there are some mistakes. So if you have any questions, do comment!!!}
- The main thing, due to the craziness, I’ve changed the date to Thursday, May 19th 8 pm central time. Apparently, my calendar didn’t flip on its own and I was looking at April when I posted the date on the last blog post!!!!!!! It was brought to my attention and I correct it to Tuesday, but I think Thursday is going to be a better day.
-Specifics –
Basically, I will open up ordering on Thursday, May 19th at 8 pm and will only be open for 24 hours. You must go to the site and fill out an order form. At 8 pm central time on Thursday, May 19th, I will throw the order form back up {currently it has been removed.} AGAIN, you must fill out an order form!! Emails don’t count! You have until 7:59 pm central time Friday, May 20th to fill out the order form. At that time, I will remove the order form and ordering will be closed until further notice.
I took into consideration every idea, suggestion, thought that was sent my way. I got many of you suggesting I take on 5 or so orders at a time. I actually planned this forever ago. But it hit me, I have so many of you that have waited a very long time! What if you never got on the 5 at a time list?! This way, every single person has a chance of getting a painting. There is NO false hope of getting one! When I get to your name, it is your turn! Plain and simple.
-Facts –
If you are in a hurry – you might want to find someone else. I don’t rush. And if the painting is for you, you wouldn’t want me to either.
If it is a gift for a specified date – you might want to find someone else. I’m literally painting first come, first serve. I’ve said in the past that even my own kids’ art doesn’t take precedence over orders {the exact reason they still don’t have 1 but I really need to change that!}
The best news evah . . . . I have a babysitter! Oh, yes I do! It is my sister, Ashley. For those wondering, we share a mom.
Ashley has been getting to know the crazies this year and watches them on bible study nights and any other time I’ve needed her. Either she loves them a lot or I pay well, because she jumped on the chance to keep the little boogers this summer after graduation! So she will be here atleast 1 day a week. Depending on how Thursday, May 19th 8 central time turns out, it might be for another day {or two.}
-Expectations -
If you do fill out an order form, you will receive a confirmation email. It should come immediately. This way there is absolutely NO WORRYING if I got it or not. As soon as I can sit down, I will be sending out personalized emails to each and every single person who filled out an order form. In this email, I will list a number {or the names, I haven’t decided yet,} so that you can easily see where you are at in the line. But you have to fill out an order form.
Let’s just be frank. Some of the numbers {or names} you see on the list are going to back out for a number of reasons. So please, don’t be, “Oh. My. Word! Nevermind, I don’t want a commissioned piece from you. You’re not that good!” Or whatever you are thinking when you see the list. okay?
{sneaky peeky – if you follow me on facebook, you’ve seen it already! Somebody tell me if that link doesn’t work.}
I do plan on posting more – I SWEAR! Even if it is just a sneaky peeky picture!!! Or a funny story about the kids {there is always a lot of material for those posts, I need to take advantage!} So, don’t give up on the blog!
{circa summer 2010 – Em heard me say I needed to vacuum.She kept saying, “I do it, I do it!” I just don’t have any idea why she thought a bubble blowing mower and bucket had anything to do with vacuuming!}
Any questions, again . . . comment. I’ll answer as soon as I get it. I will be back in the next couple of days {I actually have some art to post!} but I will definitely see you on Thursday, May 19th 8 central.
Got it?
Just in case, let’s go over it again -
-Ordering opens up at 8 pm central time on Thursday, May 19th for only 24 hours!!!
-Must fill out an order form from the site.
-At 8 pm central time on Friday, May 20th, the order form will be removed until further notice.
-okay?
great – see you then!

Kim,
I have to say that I am again. . .amazed by you. Seriously, with all you have going on and you still are doing your best to make people happy. I get it ~ painting is therapy.
I also can’t believe that I am the first to respond! I usually just give up and read and not comment. Usually due to some small person needing me and my lack of brain power to pay attention to them and make comments at the same time.
I am so glad your business is booming, and I can’t wait to see your list!
Stephanie – Thank you! And I don’t know about booming – I guess we are about to find out!
I got your email and I’ll email you shortly!!!
Girl, after I saw your tweet about going out for ice-cream, I would be in a food coma and not answering any emails.
Kim there is no doubt in my mind that you love & ADORE your kids. I hear it in the sweet words you write. I see it in their faces. YOU…my sweet friend are blessed with that mothering spirit and YOU have what it takes. You make me want to be a better parent and painter
For those of you considering to place an order for one of Kims paintings…… Do it! She is so worth the wait. Susie~
Susie, you are sooo sweet! And now my best friend! {I’ll pay you later! *wink*}
Okay, seriously. You’re amazing. How you do it all, I can’t even begin to imagine.
Got a question (or a couple) for ya’…
*If I have 2 kids and wanted 2 different paitings, would I need to fill out 2 separate order forms?
*For those of us who didn’t find you until after you had closed orders, is there a rough price range? (ex: Are we talking $50 or $500?)
Thanks!! Hopefully (depend on that price range question!) you’ll hear from me again on Thursday! =)
Kimberley – Just fill out 1 order form total. Just to make it easier on you and me. I’m doing something different for filing than what I did in the past, so 1 form for each client is perfect. As far as pricing, if you will go to the site – there is a “pricing” button on top. All prices are listed. There is an extra fee for the canvases that have the fabric flowers attached to them. Depending on how many, it could be between $5 to $25 extra. The simpatico collection is usually always the same prices as the other collection.
Hey Kim! I am sooooo excited that you are taking orders again! Yippee!! I just sent you an email to ask a question about pricing. Thanks!
Also I was wondering about the order form. Do we just fill it out and submit it online?
YES! The moment the time comes, I’ll put the order form back up on the website {not the blog.} You will fill it out and hit submit. You will get a confirmation email immediately so you know I got it. Shortly after that, I will send out an email to each person that filled out an order form.
I have been admiring your paintings for quite a while now and am finally pregnant (with twin boys!!!). I am thrilled that I could possibly have a Kim original in my hands one day!!! I am curious how you do custom orders, like to match a specific theme/bedding (I think it’s called the Simpatico Collection). I have crib sheets and small canvases from Babies R Us (not the whole bedding/nursery set). Would I just link you to the collection, send you pictures? I don’t have fabric swatches so I am just wondering how that might work since you’re as picky as I am about colors matching up! I really would want them to match up most with the store-bought canvases, so think that’d be tricky… Hope I’m one of the lucky ones to get an order form submitted in time! Thanks for your help!
When it comes time to work on your canvas and we start talking all specifics, I will then get links and pictures from you. And I’ve been known to buy a piece and return it if truth be known. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of you!
I love reading about your crazy & creative life. I read aloud parts of this post to my husband. I feel like you have written the introduction to your memoir.

Such powerful, strong words.
