Keeping it real . . .

I was going through some pictures on my computer looking for something specific. But thought it strange and cracked up with how many “messes” that I take pictures of! I use to make fun of my dad after he would get a roll of film developed and it would be maybe 3 pictures on the whole roll of someone and the rest would be a lizard or hawk or something random that he would take a gazillion photos.

So, instead of random animals – I take pictures of random messes! Why? Maybe I want to remember them someday . . . I don’t really know why?!

The only thing I remember about this day, was Em knocked everything off the counter. I have no recollection as to why. She was either mad or thought it was fun to watch it all fall. Who knows – but look at all those coupons!

This was the night before Valentine’s day. I used red paper to wrap up one of the boys Valentine boxes and, . . . well, the rest is history. Forever remembered by the 4 photos I took of it. Notice the trash bag? Some of the paper was already picked up. The livingroom looked just as bad. Guess who was the ring leader in this mess? I’ll give you a hint – her name starts with an “E” and ends with a “msley.”

This is a funny picture because of the string of toilet paper coming down the hall into my room. Just guess who did it?! But in her defense, she did need me to “wipe my b-utt, please.” She also needed me to brush that stringy hair!

And here is the newest mess addition – brown chair ripped! Amazingly, this was not Em. Lawson unzipped his backpack to get his blankets out. The zipper got stuck on the fabric. ANNNDDD he tried to get it unstuck. I love how Lonnie came home this day and Em’s first words were, ” I didn’t do it this time!” Unfortunately, this chair isn’t even 4 years old. This is NOT my first ripped arm –  you would think I was a professional furniture destroyer. My upholstery guy either hates me or loves me. But I know I cannot live with this for long.

Just proof that I do not have it together. Actually, I would say I was far from having it together!

I did finish up another painting . . . .

I was going to show you a full picture, but I still have to add some “stuff” to it. I have finished painting it, but embellishments are another story!

I really couldn’t figure out what sneaky peeky I liked best – hence the reason you get 2! And does anyone want to take a guess as to who it is for?

About Kim
I picked up a paint brush for the first time 7 years ago, and haven't put it down since. My goal - To paint a canvas for my son's nursery. I never dreamed a business would be born out of it. {And if you saw the first canvas, you would think the same thing, too!}

    Yeah, because the rest of us totally have it all together. :) Haha! I don’t know how many times I’ve downloaded pictures and thought, oh, this is a great one of the kids – only to realize there is a huge mess on the floor in the background of the photo. oh well. reality check…

    That second picture just cracked me up, what a mess!! I love that the dog is in the picture too! I would think this painting is for Miss Hollis(I only know this because I just saw it on Twitter)!

  5. I’m so glad you showed these pictures today. My twin and I talk about you (It’s all good) and how you paint so beautifully, have 4 children and decorate your house just the way we like it. We also wonder how you can do it all (you really are a wonder woman!) and to be honest makes us feel pretty darn lazy in comparison! I think a lot of it has to do with your sense of humor. It comes out in your blog. You really are an amazing mom.

    i love this post! I can relate on so, so many levels. I am inspired to document our crazy house now too. One day we will look back and think it is pretty funny right? :)

    Considering the reaction I just read on Twitter, I am 100% sure it’s for Kelly’s baby Hollis! I can’t wait to see the whole thing!

    I think Em and Jameson are related somehow…..I swear, they do the exact same things!

    Love the colors in the painting :) And the messes.. . .well, sometimes I take pictures of them because they are *so* bad. . .as in “you wouldn’t believe it, but I have a picture to prove it” — Ha!
