All of my kids have lovies. And they are all blankets or “rags” {rags are incredibly thin cloth diapers.} But then, there is Dimity . . .
My aunt actually got Hudson Dimity when he was born. Dimity has went through every kid – lovingly. But something really big happened between Emme and Dimity – because they are attached. Dimity didn’t have a name until Ems named her {and she is a girl by the way!} Emme sleeps with Dimity. She watches TV with Dimity. She plays side by side with Dimity. She even talks about Dimity as if Dimity is a living breathing creature. She even ends her prayer every night with ” . . . and God Bless Dimity.”
But 5 1/2 years have really taken their toll on ol’Dimity! Let me point out the obvious -
- Dimity has no tail! It washed away one time in the washer.
- Dimity’s tuft of hair resembles a squashed muppet on her head due to all the washing machine visits she has seen.
- Dimity is a little thin in the middle – as in she doesn’t have much stuffin’ left! I’m sure that also is because she has seen the inside of the washer too many times!
And my favorite . . .
- Dimity has permanent washing machine marks on her head, butt and legs!
Obviously, I wash her {Dimity} a lot. I just hope something is left of this duck when my kids are adults. But just in case there isn’t, I have this blog post!
God Bless Dimity.

Have you ever tried to search ebay for a back up Dimity?? How precious!
What do the boys think of Em’s attachment to Dimity So cute! It doesn’t matter that She doesn’t have a tail or does have dryer marks. This is a wonderful “lovie.” Obviously!!!
Aw! …and God bless Dimity.
Where did she find it? It’s so cute. I still have a teddy bear my dad gave me in 1986. I slept with her every night until I was 23. I took her on vacations, trips, camp, everywhere. Now she is sitting in my daughter’s nursery. She has no nose and matted hair but she is still the best bear ever!
awe…i remember dimity. she was a regular at story time.
What is the brand of this duck?? My baby is obsessed and trying to find the perfect duck lovie. Sooo cute!!!!
