So, it has been a while. ha!
Would you believe that I’ve had at least one sick kid since my last post . . . actually since two weeks before Christmas! But really, who is keeping up with that! As of December 24th, we have been to the doctor’s office 6 times. And by tomorrow, it will be 7 because Carson and Lawson have well check up visits although I’m thinking Lawson’s is going to be more of a I-got-green-snot-the-color-of-antifreeze-and-the-consistency-of-sludge-coming-out-of-my-nose appointment. Hudson went today with another sinus infection and pink eye! Sad part, with every appointment I go in with the diagnosis. I just need the doctor for the meds! At this point, I can diagnose just about anything! I can also tell you that the ‘24 hour after a fever is safe’ is a bunch a bull! Incubation periods can be up to 2 weeks long. And practically all symptoms are contagious – to include a sinus infection although a sinus infection is supposedly not. One of my best friends also has 4 kids and we say all the time we are going to write a book over childhood sickness. Between our 8 kids, I’d say we have seen quite a bit.
Four kids equates to a PhD.
Other than sickies, not much has been happening. I’ve received so many fabric swatches this week. And we know how I love swatches!
And I’m expecting at least one more envelope this week. This just about rounds out my last few orders!
Speaking of last few . . .
Here is a sneaky peeky that wasn’t completed in this picture, but is now! I should have just posted a picture of the completed piece, but it is soooo gloomy here and my art pictures always look pitiful on gloomy/cloudy days such as today. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll post!
AND finally . . .
my ribbon holder is up! It took awhile to find corbels large enough to hold the massive rolls of ribbon off the wall, yet small enough that it didn’t look like massive corbels holding a bunch of ribbon on the wall! You can’t tell at this angle, but the rod is WAY off the wall! I had it hanging a totally different way when the studio was in Em’s ‘now’ room. And basically, that really didn’t work as well as it could have. THIS {above pic} works wonderfully!
So, tomorrow – art post – officially 4 left to go!

Hope everyone is on the mend soon. Was that Kelly’s swatch that I just spotted there? I can’t wait to see what you create with that. I know its going to be awesome! Hope you show us soon
Bless your heart! I hope everyone starts feeling good again VERY soon! So excited to see my swatches!!! I almost screamed!
I’ve got a sick one as well… bluh. Strep.
LOVE the sneaky peek. can’t wait to see the finished piece. Very cool ribbon set up!
Sayin’ a quick prayer for healing all around your house and mine.
Four to go! Can you believe it? I know that just has to be Kelly’s (Hollis’) fabric on the top….I can’t wait to see the finished project. Hoping ALL the kids are better soon.
Oh no! Hope everyone gets to feeling better very soon! We have been very lucky this winter and none of our 4 kids have been sick…..which is huge considering this south Louisiana weather.
I wanted to ask you how you package and ship your paintings. I have a friend back home ask me to paint him something but I’ve never shipped one and I’m not even sure how to begin packing it up to keep it safe.
Thanks!!
I am SO EXCITED to see the finished canvas for Nicholas!!!! I am LOVING it so far!!! It will bring a lot of color into his nursery and will match his big boy rooom (one day) perfectly!
I just wanted to leave a quick note to say I have enjoyed checking in on your blog the last several months. I “found” you on Just Beachy and then to my surprise, saw you in Murfreesboro Post. How surprising to find out that we live in the same town! I hope to get to fun into you sometime in the future. You have fantastic taste in pattern and color.
(I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better!)
