This has really been a long drawn out process. Basically because we aren’t load with tons and tons of money!! Which is totally okay in my book, but it just makes it a long wait when you really want to finish up a huge project!!
For some reason, I’m sure the majority of you are feeling me right about now.
Sometime during the summer, I bought an office chair. It was a cool chair. It was from Craigslist {of course.} And it was 10 bucks.
Was it pretty – no.
Did it need a lot of work – you be the judge . . .
I’m thinking you are thinking it does, . . . unless of course, you are into the country blue/Williamsburg blue/early 90’s look {sorry if I just offended anyone.} But the facts are, I’m not into these colors at all. At.All.
Awhile back I also introduced you to this fabric . . .
I really have no idea if I told you it was for my chair and I have no idea where that post is at and it really doesn’t matter because I’m not going to ask you to look at it anyways. But I’ll tell ya’ now that it was for my chair. And without making you wait any longer, here she is . . .
Now if you hover over the above photo, you will notice this picture is named “halfway chair.” Why? Because it is. Look at the bottom! Those legs are naked! When it gets warmer, I’ll paint those jokers white. Ignore the other stuff in the picture! I’m moving furniture around and I thought last minute I needed to tell you about my chair! I also wanted to take the arms off – but . . . the back wouldn’t have stayed on since the arms actually support it – boo. My $10 chair would have look EXACTLY like the one in Ballard Design for $550.
And as a reminder, here are the window treatments. The chair is really the only over-the-top-funky I’m doing. And it has dots. We all know how I feel about dots! The two fabrics coordinate very well, but the dot fabric reflects the light and looks more limey-er than it is in person.
Now, basically all I have left is painting the furniture. All white. Yes, I’ve decided on white – due to reflection issues when I take pictures. But it is way too cold to paint, so all that is on hold till the spring! My paint table {above} will be white with a nice thick sheet of glass on top! {Can’t wait.} I also have the buffet {Craigslist find} table and the chicken coop table to paint. And we are seriously tackling this project on the first warm weekend we have in March or April. I’ve got the paint and I’m ready to going with it.
Surprisingly, I love the look of all the paint on my paint table and you know it could really tell a story with all those paint streaks, but it is getting too bumpy to paint on!
Well, I teased you enough! I’m actually on my way to take Hudson to the doctor. He is still sick and now his face {and especially his eyes} are swollen – that usually means one thing . . . it’s back – that stupid nephrotic syndrome.

Love the chair fabric. That space is going to be so much fun to work in!
When you finish w/this project…just head on over here to help
me w/mine. Mkay??
Girl, I’m on my way!!!! hah!
LOVE the chair. Did you reupholster it yourself? If so, I am so totally jealous of your talent. You are a Kim of all trades. lol. Looks great.
Uhmmm, no! I wish I could!!! But I know my limitations! The guy I use is a perfectionist and I’ve known him my entire life so he knows my love for perfection – ha! We are a good match for business!
I love it and I know you are dying to come all the way to my house to help me do some decorating!
After I leave Jill’s house {the 1st one to comment,} I’m on my way! haha!
I really LOVE your chair!! It looks sooooo comfy too. I want one!! I can’t wait to see more of the room. I love decorating pics, and getting to peek in peoples houses.
Thank you! I’m the same way – I love seeing in people’s houses, too!
I love it! The fabric and the style!
Thank you!
Love! So how much did it cost to cover the chair? I need to cover one too. Trust me, I totally know how long it can take. It took me over a year to finish my room!
So, the chair was $10. The fabric was about $35. And he charged me $50. Total $95. Which is not bad, because I paid each separately over the past year!
I’m so glad you showed your drapes again. I really want to know where your purchased the fabric. Also in the summer you had a post about the flowers your kids picked out and there was a picture of your porch with a wrought iron hanging basket. LOVED IT. I was wondering where you got that too. You decorate your home as well as you paint. You have so much talent!
I know – I’m suppose to give a short tutorial on how I made those, too! And I will, I just desperately want to finish the last art orders I have. I got the fabric here – http://giffordstreetfabrics.com – they are fantastic to do business with {but not the cheapest by no means!!!} The iron hanging basket came from Southern Living at Home – which is no more. But I bet you could find one on ebay. And thank you! It’s funny that most of my real life friends always talk about my decorating, but I’m not known for it in the blog world. So thank you for saying that!! Means a lot!
I LOVE it! You have such a fun and fashionable style. You are GOOD!
Thank you!!! I just hope I can pull off this room!! It actually doesn’t match anything in my house – so I find a little hard to decorate!
I Love the chair Kim. The window treatments are beautiful. Great job.
Hope Hudson is feeling better.
Hi Kim, Thanks for the info. I went on the fabric website and was having a little trouble. Not all of the fabric choices come with pictures for some reason. Do you remember the name of the fabric? Thanks, Fran
Love Love Love the colors you are working with! I would love to learn to redo chairs…
Girl, I love the chair! That is great! You always inspire me
… which is why I should stay away from your blog – you inspire me and it makes me want to spend money! lol. Hope your baby gets better soon! Have a great week!
holy dang! that’s some good sewing on that chair. i am super impressed!!
