Cash . . .

I obviously worked on this painting at the same time as the previous painting {Cain.} I say obviously because I finished it incredibly quick after the Cain and {of course} because I showed a picture of both as a sneaky peeky a few posts ago. And I do hate telling you all that this does not lower my number since this is actually a gift for one of Lawson’s pre-K teachers who just had a baby a few weeks ago. I’ve tried not to include any gifts that I’ve promised in my final number. I have about 5 gifts left that I gave gift certificates at the baby shower – embarrassingly I’ll admit that most every one of those kids are already a year old. After giving one of my BEST friends growing up a painting for the upcoming birth of her 1st “birth” child and then he lived for only 25 hours after birth, I knew that I would try to get these paintings out asap from now on instead of a promise. So, I’m trying to squeeze a ‘gift painting’ in between each order during these final orders. As I’ve said before, they usually go the quickest because they let me roll with whatever I want and it makes it easy not to have to wait for email responses.

Now saying all that – I thought of this design layout when I first saw the fabrics that were chosen for baby Cash’s room. I did use it for Cain’s because I wanted to see what it would look like for a more traditional type room. Fortunately, Channon {Cash’s mommy} let me do what I wanted – which is awesome because this girl is an interior designer! She was actually the one who had decorated a house in the Parade of Homes that we chose to build! And since then, she became a pre-K teacher {Bless her!} haha! And we ran into each other again.

I wanted to have this painting complete before the baby was born. Didn’t happen. I’m going to blame it on the fact that it took a long time for Cash to have a name. I had too much fun harassing someone about choosing a name. And since it took sooooo long, I’m glad it was such a cool freakin’ name!

I wrapped the design around the edge {again.} And again, I think it is my favorite part!  ????  Don’t ask.

There is also a green and white seersucker fabric to go along with the dots and spots. I originally draped the fabric on the canvas and took the picture – but it didn’t match like it really does! I think because the fabric is “greasy.” {hah! Inside joke!} It seriously did look greasy, but I never noticed till that moment!

When I was harassing Channon for some swatches, this was the only one she had on hand. But it was originally part of her baby shower cake topper and she hated letting me use that one because it was “greasy.”

Unfortunately, my freak of a daughter broke it! I’ll be super gluing the greasy baby in a bit!! AND re-wrapping that joker in his fabric blanket! For some reason, she was obsessed with this thing. And no matter where I hid it, she would sniff it out and find it!

Okay – I have 6 orders left! Now some of these are multiple canvases. And I just knew I was going to finish them up this month! Too bad we all got sick, which by the way has been diagnosed as sinus infections! Every one of us! What is the odds?! The doctor said that sinus infections are not contagious but the virus we originally got that set us up for the sinus infections was contagious! We are now antibiotic filled! So, as I wait for my drugs to kick in, I’m waiting on an email response from the next order in line. And while I wait for those 2 things, I will be working on my next gift – Isabella . . . who just turned 1 a couple of weeks ago {shameful!}

AND I’LL ANSWER EMAILS!!! There are a few of you that I know have to hate me since you have been waiting on my response!!!!!!!! Answering emails will never be my claim to fame. Never.

Have a great New Year’s Eve everyone!

Cain . . .

Everyone is still sick around here.

We have went through approximately 16 boxes of Kleenex {with lotion}

I’m sick of snot.

But no one has had a fever . . . , well, I don’t think.

We have a doctor’s appointment TODAY.

We could have went yesterday or the day before, but our doctor is booked and I’m sick of seeing someone else’s doctor. I wanted to see our own.

And I want antibiotics. Not me personally, but my for my kids.

And other than that . . . . absolutely nothing is going on around here.

Nothing.

Seriously, nothing.

Except for one thing. One tiny small thing.

I finally have a new “boy” design.

Finally!

You wanna see it????

This one is going on walls that are a soft blue. Another one of those colors that is actually white with a blue tone. Dying to see this painting on the wall!

As crazy as this sounds, I love the sides. They are my favorite part of the painting.

Got a little bit of wash going on with the stripes.

Remember Pottery Barn’s Chase bedding??? There were 2 styles – a blue set and this one with greens.

Cain is the big brother to Callie. These 2 just got to move back home last week after their house was submerged under the waters of Nashville’s flood last April.

Welcome home!

Our Post Christmas, Happy New Year Card . . .
