Preface
If any of these old photos look familiar – as in anyone you know, are related to or perhaps {please, I hope not} be YOU . . . please know I didn’t mean to deface you or your peeps – only to enhance their “natural” beauty and forgive me. And I totally understand if you never come back here again. Thank you.
I saw this idea and cracked up. And knew I definitely wanted to make a few of these for my Halloween decorations. Problem was, I didn’t have any old pictures – especially any I wanted to do this to! So, I went to etsy . . . and guess what I found? Yes, I do a lot of business on etsy – purchasing business, not selling {that is another post for another day.} I paid and within 2 hours had the pictures via email!
I could have printed them myself, but I wanted really good quality. So, I went to mpix and uploaded the photos. It took a couple of days, but I got them in the mail yesterday and was so excited to get started!! Hence the reason my 1 before photo looks a little bad – it was midnight and I can’t take good photos to start with, the dark really doesn’t help me any.
BEFORE
ADDED
HAHAHA!!!
Here are a few more . . .
I did only buy “smiley” kids. Although I think it would have been even funnier with the mean faced ones – I am going with the “merry, not scary” theme! I used Martha Stewart’s glitter glue – only because it was the only glue that I had that had a fine tip. The only advice I really have – use google eyes that are actually bigger then the eye area on the picture. You can see in the last picture above the corner of one of his eyes. They look better if the whole thing is covered.
Why do I find this so funny? I still have to put them in the tiny frames and then attempt to hang them on a tree – a wire Halloween tree {you’ll see it in a few days!}
And as much as I would like to say this was an original idea, it wasn’t!! Go here to see where I found the idea from!!!

And because I’m so crafty, {I hear you Beastie Boy fans!} here is another fantastic idea I found!!!!
I borrowed a cricut machine from a friend – and oh.my.word!! I want one! I cut out circles at every free moment for a couple of days! I found several different papers – from Halloween scrapbook paper, to card-stock, to fantastic glitter paper!
Then I ran the pieces through my sewing machine. I used clear thread and zipped them through – crazy, easy and takes no sewing skills!
The card-stock is double sided so it doesn’t matter what side you see. But the regular ol’ scrap book paper AND the glitter stuff is one-sided only. So when I was zipping it under the machine’s foot, I just put 2 of the same size circles back to back. I even used the odd shaped stuff I cut out with the cricut. See the purple oblong shape on the black circle?? I wasted NOTHING!
I don’t remember how many sheets of paper I cut out – maybe 15? It didn’t take long to sew it AND I had tons of it!!! This stuff is every where!!
Again, so not an original idea – I totally ripped off Lindsey from the Pleated Poppy!
