Hello . . .

I’ve got the biggest headache. I’m positive it’s because I haven’t had a Cherry Dr. Pepper in 39 hours.

I think I’m dying.

And I’m starting to have the shakes.

So sad. And stupid.

But despite my looming death, I’m still getting things done. Which really makes me happy. With the shakes!

First things first, I did complete a painting. Remember the Evelyn post?? This one is for her sister.

They obviously match – but the colors are flipped around.

The “order” list is getting smaller! And so is my things to do list.

I finally painted the pole, brackets and rings for the studio window treatments!!! I did it and there were no drips! Spray paint is not my friend. Sorta like painting my toes, not a skill I was born with. It looks like they are hanging from the ceiling in this picture. I assure you, they are NOT! I was just sitting underneath them when I took the picture.

I’ve had several emails {and comments} asking about these treatments and fabric. I’m working on a post that will tell you all you want to know! Including how I easily made those pleats! And that was not meant for sarcasm. It was ridiculously easy. And I can’t get over how perfect they {the pleats} turned out! So check back for that info – I promise to answer all the questions!

I also {finally} swapped out the hardware on the dresser in my kitchen – I probably should stop calling it a dresser and maybe use the term “buffet” because that doesn’t sound right.

I want you to ignore that dish on the wall above the chalk board. Prior to the “buffet” {and the chalkboard for that matter,} I had a nice balance of art and dishes on either side of the window that is to the left of the “buffet.” I’ve not moved the dish because I’ve got a ton of them and I’m trying to figure out what to do with them all! So, before I go putting more holes in the wall, I’m trying to map out that plan of attack.

I’ve talked about this piece before. It was bought {Craigs List} to use as a dresser/night stand in the master bedroom. I had another antique dresser that was on the other side {which you will soon see – For Sale!} Someone had removed the original hardware and replaced it with some ghetto 80’s numbers. They reminded me of something you would see on a waterbed – don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about! Total janky! I had bought these to replace them at Hobby Lobby {of course – just in case that was a question} for 2 bucks each several months ago! What took me so long to swap them out??

Lazy.

Just being honest. I had to use a drill to make my holes a smidge bigger because the screws were spaced a tad bit wider than the janky/ghetto/80’s drawer pulls.

But it is done – who cares if I was lazy!! Right?!

On the other side of my kitchen is this joker! I meant to get a real before picture – but got antsy and started painting.

Unfortunately, this beauty was a Craigs List disappointment. I say that only because she isn’t working out the way I had planned! Ugh. I found 2 of these listed on CL. You could buy 1 or the pair. We recently bought a bedroom suite {which I will blog about!} And to cut out all the story so I can save it for later . . . I still need 2 night stands – I want them to match, paintable {because I wanted them a color} and taller than the average night stand. I thought I had found what I was looking for – AND they could be used as file cabinets {for hanging files} which I’m in need of in a desperate way.

One was red and 1 was black. Who cares – right? I’m painting them! Welp, there is just enough difference in size that they didn’t work as night stands – ugh. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind them not looking exactly alike – really I don’t. BUT these were too close to not be exact. If they aren’t going to match, they need to be totally different. I hope that makes sense.

As I was saying, I needed file space. So this one is going in the studio, under the windows that just got the new look in the space where my once perfect green chair sat {*sniff*} . . . which is actually a perfect spot for the cabinet. So, really . . . she was a short-lived disappointment.

{I need a Cherry Dr. Pepper.}

The other one is my living room housing all the toys that I’m too lazy to take back upstairs when we pick up at night. It is in fantastic shape and might be for sale soon as well. Black. Distressed. Seriously much prettier than the red one “was” – the red one is red no more.

I know you want to see it.

You’ll just have to wait.

I heard you just tell me to “shut-up.”

And for those who have sent me an email – I’m trying to email you back. I think I’ve made it clear that I’m lazy and sometimes I’m just tired. Tonight – expect replies tonight!

About Kim
I picked up a paint brush for the first time 7 years ago, and haven't put it down since. My goal - To paint a canvas for my son's nursery. I never dreamed a business would be born out of it. {And if you saw the first canvas, you would think the same thing, too!}

I had to smile when you commented to me and told me to look you up when I come to town- girl you are a busy busy woman and if I do it will be to baby-sit your kids and send you off to a pedicure. :)
